Tennis Camp 2008! We're gonna make it great!

Tennis camp is approaching! Yeah! I remember when I was a kid( a couple of years ago), tennis camp was the highlight of my year, except for Christmas, my birthday, times I got to travel of course. Anyways, I could never sleep the night before the first day of camp; anticipating all the fun games, reuniting with friends I made the previous year, pizza patties after my hour of play, and just showing my coaches how much I had improved since the last year. Yes, tennis camp always made me excited in my pants!

This year, however, I have the privilege once again to make camp as exciting as it was for me, for the youth of today. Yes, I'm coaching at camp this year! Last year was my first time coaching, and that was a success. I even received the Best Coach award for the camp and made special bonds with the kids, and the other coaches. I really look forward to doing it all again this year and making it more fun than last year. See you on the court!

In Recent news!

The Stewarts and Eddy just left the island. We had so much fun rocking Anguilla, even my friend Rehan came over to party with us. I liked the way everyone embraced the culture and tried to learn from us. I feel that's very important when travelling to get the full experience. Trying the foods, listening to the music, and just doing as the locals do really gives you a better experience of the place. I just want to take this time to thank them for coming and allowing me to be apart of their Anguilla experience. Ha ha I won't forget their first "Elvis Beach Bar" experience, the around the island boat tour, our visit to the Pyrat Rum factory, the Stewart ladies and I dancing the pump house, Rehan studying on the beach, Eddy's facial expression when he tasted the pumpkin soup, Kris's crazy driving, the 'dead' body we say on the road...lol, drinking in the hotel room, seeing Robert sweating at Picante, seeing Lisa and the turtle interact, our cat Dawlseen, and our visit with the donkey on the beach! They were a pleasure to play host to, and I hope they had a good time, and are right now making plans to come back! See yall soon!!

Eddy's interesting trip to Anguilla!

So usually I write about myself, and stuff that has impacted me, well today's no different. One of my fraternity brothers told me that they were coming to visit me on the island. I was excited to show one of my colleagues the place where I grew up, and share some of my cultures with them, seeing that it is so different from Tennessee.

The day came when I had to pick Eddy up from the ferry. As I was sitting, waiting for his boat to come in, there were people talking about how some people missed the boat, and that they had to spend the night in St.Marten. Knowing Eddy's luck I was sure that he was one of those people who got left behind. As the ferry pulled in, I was looking nervously through the fence, just hoping to glimpse Eddy's unique hairstyle. People started hurrying off of the boat, no Eddy insight... I was wondering; What will he do if he got left behind? Will he call? Does he know how to catch a taxi? Does he have money for a hotel? Should I call my aunt?...I had no idea what to do next, then out of nowhere, I see Eddy walking up the peer. He was dressed like a real islander, coming to the island all linen out, stepping with confidence and such. I was very surprised that he had made it.

The first thing he did was to come and meet everyone I worked with at the tennis academy. Most people's comments when they walk into the academy's gates are "wow this is amazing" or " how beautiful!" or even "this place is so neat!". Eddy's comments were " I thought it was bigger..." Anyways pushing that aside, we met everyone, and everyone decided that we would go to this bar that night and have a drink, to really welcome Eddy to the island, but not before he tried some of my aunt's island favourite "Ox Tail". I was excited for Eddy to have his first local meal, my aunt even served it with rice & peas, and some vegetables. Eddy took a nibble of it and insisted that he had had this in the states before and that it wasn't something new, even though I knew that nothing in the states tasted anything like this. No offence. haha.
I have to go give some kids a tennis lesson, write more when I'm back! ttyl

If only CNN was this interesting...

So I'm out getting my usaul Jonny cake and chicken wings for breakfast, at this little road side vendor (best jonny cakes on the island). Next thing I hear is "Obama much smarter than Condoleezza Rice", so I turn around to see who drunken man this was yelling at his drunken friends. Then I hear other man saying that Obama is a Lawyer, and Condoleezza Rice is just some old doctor. So I had to stay a little while cause the conversation sounded interesting. Apparently Hillary Clinton lost some contest with Obama, and now he is going to try and get her to be his Vice-President, while John McCain is going to get Condoleezza Rice to be his Vice president. A woman Vice president, thats different.
I usually hear the drunken men talk about boat racing, and who going to with the Calypso show, sometimes even about Anguillian politics. But, now they gone international, I'm proud that they are broadening their horizons. lol. I would be watching the news everyday if CNN was this interesting. I'll be tuning in tomorrow at the road side vendor, while eating my jonny cake and chicken, to listen to the drunken men talk about issues affecting all of us in the world.

Whats going on these days

It's so convenient to have a blog. I get to speak to stuff people would rather not sit and listen to, but nonetheless, they want to read. I recently started taking voice lessons, don't have big dreams of becoming a pop star are anything, I thought it would be a fun thing to do to past the time in Jackson. I've had two performances, and have had positive feedback. I have the best friends anyone could ask for, they come to cheer me on even if I suck. lol. I've already had some perks from the music business, I was invited to a party where I would be introduced to 'Cowboy Troy', and maybe talk about laying down a track, but he never showed up. I took my friends along with me so I still had a good time with them and the margaritas.
I'm back home in Anguilla; working at the tennis academy. I spend most of my working hours on the court training, and in the gym working out, best job in the world. lol. I'm really excited that some of my friends are coming from Tennessee to visit me, it's bound to be a good time. Right now I would probably be talking on the phone with my girlfriend, but we decided to go our separate ways. I don't know how I feel about it yet, ask me in a few weeks, I mean I'll always love her, but I don't think it was meant to be anyway. It wasn't the "can't eat, can't sleep, reach for the stars because I'm in love situation", but oh well it is what it is.We're still gonna be friends, we were best friends before we started dating, but I do miss her!

On a brighter note, I started running again! I used to run for Lambuth for about 6 weeks, my roommate thought it was a good idea. I quit and ran home one day, but now I think I want my spot back, so I run on the beach every day. I'm aiming to run 5 miles in 25 minutes because that was the teams average. I need to be running anyway, my metabolism is slowing down I think, and those cheeseburgers are catching up with me. lol.
That's it for know. TTYL

Venting, I gues

Have you ever felt used? Have you ever felt like you were living a lie? I think I am/was, I don't even know anymore. Just picture you have a friend, this friend needed you way more than you needed them. So here you are, helping this friend out with everything because their life sucks, and then one day they stop talking to you. Why? You don't know. Did you do something? No. The weird thing about it is the friend turns around and make things seem like they never needed you at all, and they were just pretending to need help. For what? I don't know, I guess attention. So after all the blood, sweat and tears, you wasted on them they just turn their back and acted like nothing ever happened. I've tried to put this in the past, but it still comes up and haunts me. What kind of person is that? Pretending to need help, pretending to care about stuff, and pretending to be a friend? I just don't get people sometimes.

So I always said that I am never going to be like those crazy people, who write all there personal feelings on blogs so everyone could readt it. But I'm going against that.
Have you ever felt like you have everything you would ever want? But still feel like you're missing a piece of the puzzle? Well you would look at me, and say 'yeah, he's spoiled, he has everything'. Sometimes I look in the mirror, and say the same thing. Lately tho, I've felt incomplete, like theres something missing. I have no idea what it is, all i know is that it's not there.

Back at the ole LU

Back to the old LU. You would think that coming back to school would have new beginnings and stuff like that. But no, it's the same ole foolishness as last semester. There is still th messed up friends who appear to have become more messed up, the ones who stood on the sidelines, they are still keeping their seats warm, and then theres my circle group of friends, things just kinda kicked off where they started from. So we decided to kick the year off with a 'Ninja' party! Yeah I know I was thrilled to hear about the theme. lol. Well yeah it was a good turn out. I took some jello shots, shotted some vodka, and made a nice mix drink that I carried around. The turn out was very random, people that I never saw in my life claimed they went to Lambuth attended the party. Well you know me, I had to know everybody cause i want to be Mr.Lambuth my senior year, so i went around finding out who people were and who they linked up with. It was kinda weird everyone who I talked to knew who I was, I dunno if it was a bad o good thing. I was drunk so I really didn't care. lol Nevertheless we had a good time drinking, dancing, and laughing at the foolishness. The night kinda ended when one of my friends saw that her expensive vodka was stolen, so she paraded around the house like a pregnant woman looking for her fetus. She screamed at everybody who would listen, and then decided to leave before she got more than she was asking for.
I'm glad I'm back at lambuth, I missed my girlfriend a lot! I couldn't wait to catch up with my brothers ,and friends. My life just seems like it makes sense when I'm here. The spell check thing isn't working on this computer so I'm sorry for the mispelt words, and i would put pictures up but they will be liability or something someone was trying to tell me. I'll figure it out, because you have to see some of this stuff to believe it.

Happy 2008

Merry 2008 fellow bloggers and blog reader people! How did yall spend the new year! The new year came, and met me holding an empty bottle of champaign in my hand. Do you know how spectacular fire works are when your intoxicated?! Haha... It was kinda of a out of body experience. when I first saw them they hurt my eyes like hell, because my stupid ass wanted to get as close to them as possible. At one point I was running away from them because the looked like they were attacking me. Once I hit the ground, I looked up and the whole sky was on fire with multicolor flames. It looked like one of those collage things that comes in the Cracker Jack boxes. I don't know how to put it into words, but it was an incredible site to behold. I enjoyed being kicked out the V.I.P area and laughing with my cousins that night. Yeah, we 'snuck' into a 5-star resort!
With a new year there comes New Year Resolutions. I'm never the one to make up a resolution because I don't think it takes a whole year to realize that your living your life the wrong way. This year tho, I came up with one. This year I want to really concentrate on my tennis. I once was good, but just before college my game started to slip, and I didn't care anymore. But, this year I'm going to work to be on top again. This is where the hard work starts... Whats your resolutions??
